The Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) is sponsoring a special engagement of Truth Values to take place during the 2010 Joint Mathematics Meetings this January in San Francisco. Acknowledged as the premier center for collaborative mathematical research, MSRI is also a leader in bringing programs to the public that unite science and the arts, such as evenings with David Auburn and Michael Frayn, authors of the celebrated math- and science-themed plays Proof and Copenhagen. About 6,000 mathematicians travel from all over the country and internationally to attend these meetings, which will be held this year at the Moscone Center.
The performances of Truth Values will take place next door to the Moscone Center in the lovely Zeum Theater, which hosts many Bay Area performances, including some of ACT, The American Conservatory Theater. Performances are open to the public. Partial proceeds of the performances will benefit the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM).
Why not make a New Year’s resolution this year to help out AWM and other women’s organizations? Come see the show and make a difference. Come and bring friends! Ticket information can be found here.
